Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad has participated in the annual festival sponsored by Al-Nahrin University to commemorate the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH), under the slogan (I swear that you don’t erase our mention), in cooperation with the center for market research and consumer protection at the university as well as Al Khillani Socio-Cultural Foundation and with the participation of a number of Christian, Yazidi and Sabian communities.

During his speech, the rector addressed the mission of Imam Hussein (PBUH) and the importance of applying it now and then, thus inspiring lessons for all humanity to confront any difficulties in life for the sake of enhancing the realty of the Islamic nation. Also Dr. Munir al-Saadi stressed the significance of the Husseini renaissance in supporting the youth reformation approach that may be capable of making a vivid social change and raising this motto in every part of the world. It is noteworthy that this festival witnessed a number of literary events and delivering poems that glorify Imam Hussein bin Ali (PBUT), in addition to a book fair and an art exhibition that depicted the role of the Husseini renaissance in the Islamic world and its reflections on the West.
