A delegation from the department of astronomy and space at the college of science has participated recently in an evening training course for astronomical monitoring set up by the scientific care department at the Iraqi ministry of youth and sports so as to enhance the capabilities of students in this regard.
This evening aimed to support all astronomical monitoring amateurs from different age groups, particularly the young people who had undertaken several field initiatives for using telescopes to record data about moon, stars and other celestial bodies, since such events can be a good opportunity to acquire new practical skills through exchanging experiences with professors. It is noteworthy that the department of astronomy at the University of Baghdad has similar coordination with the ministry of youth in the fields of observational astronomy as well as some research projects.
