The PV-Magazine which is a monthly trade publication launched for the international photovoltaics (PV) community in 2008 has published a report written by the journalist Emiliano Bellini praising the findings reached at by an Iraqi research paper entitled: (A new approach for employing multiple PCMs in the passive thermal management of photovoltaic modules) submitted by Dr. Jassim Mohammed Mahdi, a professor from the department of energy engineering at the University of Baghdad and that was published recently in the (Solar Energy, Cite Score: 8.9, Impact Factor: 5.742).

According to the report, an Iraqi-British research group has come up with a new technology described as more sophisticated than the current cooling technologies of solar cells that is based on using a range of variable-phase materials selected so that their physical-thermal properties escalate in a linear pattern that provides a higher storage density for the cooling system and makes it able to retain greater energy, which in turn removes heat from PV panels and allows for lower fusion rates and longer thermal management of PV units. It is noteworthy that the PV-Magazine is a prestigious international publication focusing on the latest news in the fields of technology trends and worldwide market developments in the field of solar PV news where its regional news websites include: Australia, China, France, Germany, India, Latin America, Mexico, Spain as well as the USA.
