Virtual workshop on collagen and aging at the college of pharmacy


The college of pharmacy at the University of Baghdad has organized a virtual workshop entitled “Collagen and Aging” delivered by the lecturer Noor Sabah Jaafar from the Medical Drugs and Plants Branch via Zoom platform. The workshop included the definition of collagen as the main component of connective tissue, its types, sources and the factors that lead to a decrease in its production in the body in general and in the skin in particular.

The lecturer also discussed the types of aging that is the process of becoming older and it is usually associated with the dynamic changes taking place in the biological, psychological, physiological, environmental, behavioral and social processes, affecting the skin and how to reduce its effects, as well as the methods of giving collagen and collagen peptides and the difference between them in terms of absorption of the skin and the digestive system and its vital effect on the body and how the doses are given and their side effects.
