The college of arts has organized recently its second international workshop entitled “No one listens to me”, held under the sponsorship of UNESCO Chair for Genocide Prevention Studies in the Muslim world in collaboration with the UNESCO mission in Iraq, in the presence of a number of international activists, professors and researchers.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Abdul Halim Rahim Ali, dean of the college of arts stated during his opening speech that these events, which continued over five years with the support of the ministry of higher education and scientific research and the presidency of the University of Baghdad have resulted into the establishment of the second international workshop to combat extremist and destructive ideas of the social cohesion in Iraq and for the sake of providing a safe and stable environment for al citizens. On the sidelines of the workshop, a lecture was delivered at the Iraqi-German Center for Antiquities and Assyrians that focused on establishing an intellectual project to confront genocide in Iraq in particular and in the Muslim world in general so as to carry out studies and research in Arabic and English, as well as the need for shedding light on the negative effects of genocide on the Iraqi people to prevent and stop any phases of violence, extremism in the country and to encourage future younger generations to promote the concept of peace and cultural diversity in their daily life and to spread the culture of tolerance & social coexistence.
