The college of pharmacy at the University of Baghdad has organized an electronic workshop entitled “differential scanning calorimetry” chaired by the lecturer Zainab Issa Jassim from the pharmaceutics branch via Zoom platform. The lecturer started with discussing this thermoanalytical technique and its most important common applications and how to use it for measuring the fusion of compounds, pharmaceuticals, polymers and many other mixtures and to clarify the difference between the use of this thermal scanning device and other traditional methods used for measuring the fusion degree. The workshop also included a detailed explanation of the parts of this device and the functions of each part, also dealt with some observations on how to prepare samples before examining them and showing the steps adopted for operating it.
