The University of Baghdad won the 1st place compared to other Iraqi public universities in publishing (1507) research papers in in Scopus and (581) researches in Clarivate Analytics in 2021, so the total number of researches published till now in Scopus is (15637) and (8067) in Clarivate database. Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad praised all the scientific efforts of professors and scholars in publishing research in various international repositories for the sake on enhancing the status of the university in various fields of science and humanities, therefore he urged all researchers to do more academic achievements to maintain the scientific reputation and the educational heritage of our prestigious university known for decades, even under the current critical conditions.

It is noteworthy that Scopus is Elsevier’s abstract and citation database launched in 2004 that covers nearly (22000) titles from more than (5000) publishers, of which (20000) are peer-reviewed journals in top-level subject fields including (life sciences, social sciences, physical sciences and health sciences) and Elsevier is a Netherlands-based publishing company specializing in scientific, technical, and medical content that was established since more than 100 years, being the largest global publishing house. However, Clarivate is a new company formed in 2016, following the acquisition of Thomson Reuters’ Intellectual Property and Science Business by Onex Corporation and Baring Private Equity Asia and it owns and operates a collection of subscription-based services focused largely on analytics, i.e, academic research and patent intelligence.
