Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad has visited recently the college of medicine in order to follow-up the course of the final examinations for postgraduate studies as well as the objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) for the students of the fourth grade and for visiting the clinical skills laboratory hall at the college accompanied by a number of professors of esoteric medicine, surgery and basic sciences.

Dr. Munir al-Saadi along with the dean of the college Prof. Dr. Ali al-Shalji supervised the performance of the students during the OSCE examination essential for the students of medicine that is based on the direct clinical examination of the patient and to train students on how to deal with various medical conditions and to give the accurate diagnosis for each pathological case. It is noteworthy that this clinical examination was first done in 1975 under the supervision of a medical team led by Dr. Ronald Harden, a professor of medical education at the University of Dundee in Scotland who introduced this innovative method for evaluating the student clinical skills practically and since then it was adopted as an evaluation tool in medical schools and fellowship programs around the world. The rector also followed up the administrative and preventive precautions undertaken at the college in the light of the outbreak of the new Coronavirus variants, stressing the need for the adoption of social distancing conditions, wearing masks and conducting daily sterilization campaigns.
