The University of Baghdad has gained the first place in publishing academic research in global repositories, where (15438) research papers were published in Scopus database as well as (7916) researches published in Clarivate Analytics until July 9, 2021.

Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad stressed the importance of this scientific achievement and the need for expansion of the prospects of effective dissemination of scientific research in various disciplines which would reflect the academic and cognitive output of the university’s faculty members in open access data repositories. It is noteworthy that the University of Baghdad has published (11234) papers in Scopus until late May last year, so it has disseminated (4204) research papers within 426 days, being in the first rank locally, also the data showed that Iraq occupies the 45th position globally, the 6th in the Middle East and the 3rd in the Arab world in scientific publications.
