The Natural History Museum and Research Center held a seminar on (Coronavirus vaccine: types and significance) delivered by the assistant lecturer Noor Hussein Yousif, a faculty member at the department of vertebrates, sponsored by the director of the center Prof. Dr. Razzaq Shaalan Akil and under direct supervision of the lecturer Muhammad Inad Ghazwan. The lecturer at first gave an overview on two types of vaccines invented for the treatment of Covid-19 patients, namely (Pfizer & AstraZeneca) available now in Iraq and how to take doses, methods of storage and effectiveness for each one.

The assistant lecturer Noor Hussein recommended that a set of tests should be conducted by individuals before getting vaccines to confirm that they do not have any allergies, as well as not to give pregnant or lactating women any vaccines unless they work in hospitals and in contact with infected people, also to exclude the individuals under 18 years old and those having chronic diseases such as stress and brittle diabetes from vaccination for protecting them from any side effects, including blood clots for travelers who have previously infected with Covid-19, stressing that the vaccine is not completely can get rid of infection, but it helps us to combat the pandemic as soon as possible.
