The pediatric and preventive dentistry branch at the college of dentistry, in collaboration with the continuing education unit organized a virtual course entitled “treatment in pediatric dentistry” via Zoom app. The lectures discussed tooth decay in children as a major problem that needs the mastery of many diagnostic skills, prevention and conservative treatment by the dentists. Then they addressed matters related to deciduous teeth that have a key role in appearance, pronunciation, eating and maintaining space for permanent teeth, as well as the goal of the dental crowns in achieving the biological compatibility and efficiency for chewing and the clinically accepted dental restoration. The participants discussed also other topics like the permanent tooth extraction and dental implants.
