The department of philosophy at the college of arts, in coordination with Ibn Sina center for e-learning held a scientific symposium entitled “Theorem as a duty to resume philosophical thinking” in collaboration with the Arab Philosophical Gathering.

The symposium was chaired by the director of Delta Center for In-Depth Research in Lebanon, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Haider who gave an overview on the philosophical theory according to the points of view of some prominent philosophers like Plato and Karl Marx, stressing that the former perceived the notion of utopia, while the latter adhered to his belief of the ideal society in a way that both were imagining values that don’t actually exist and from such notions comes metaphysics which is a branch of philosophy that examines the essence of things through questions of existence, processing, being and reality.
