The surgery branch at Al-Kindy college of medicine has sponsored recently a virtual workshop on “First Aid and ATLS” via Google Meet service with the aim to train the medical students of the 4th, 5th and 6th grades in how to give an immediate assistance to any person suffering from either a minor or serious illness or injury to preserve life, prevent the condition from worsening, or to promote recovery.

The course included a range of topics that dealt with the primary survey, how to stop external bleeding, airway, respiratory tract, how to provide the emergency respiratory treatment, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the neurodegenerative assessment by Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), external fixation and physical examination.
