The college of physical education and sports sciences at the University of Baghdad organized a qualitative lecture on “Personality traits of athletes and their impact on sports achievement” in the presence of some faculty members. The lecturers aimed to determine the impact of sports on the development or personality characteristics and their relationship with the sports performance of Iraqi athletes.

They first shed light on the concept of personality in psychology, its types, most notably vivid among athletes, stating that each kind of personality refers to a set of different qualities that distinguish some individuals from others and that can be reflected in their interaction with the surrounding environment, whether it is related to the way they are understood and perceived or those that appear through their feelings and actions.
