Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad visited recently the college of education (Ibn al-Haitham) for pure and applied sciences, accompanied by the assistant rector for administrative affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmed Wahid Nasser, director of the dormitories Prof. Dr. Omar Faleh Hassan, director of diwan affairs Dr. Sarmad Fouad Jaber and the director of follow-up department Dr. Mohsen al-Shammari.

The visit included a meeting with the dean of the college and his assistants for administrative, scientific and students affairs to address many significant topics, including the identification of the nature and identity of the college with the emphasis on the notion that its academic outputs should be different from those of the colleges of science and the need for more orientation towards e-learning and virtual lectures, as well as creating  a healthy professor-student relationship through the right and constructive dialogue between the two sides based on the principle of respect and cooperation for the common good. Then Dr. Munir al-Saadi recommended the need to encourage publishing scientific research in Scopus database to enhance the citations of the University of Baghdad, in addition to developing the college’s infrastructure, namely the laboratories provided for our dear postgraduate students in order to upgrade the educational and research process in the country.
