The department of chemistry, in collaboration with the continuing education unit at the college of science organized a workshop entitled “The role of vitamins in the prevention of Covid-19&20 infections” with the participation of a number of students, professors and those involved in the field of pharmacy, pathological analyses and chemistry.
The workshop which was chaired by Dr. Shurooq Badri Salman who introduced the latest methods adopted worldwide to prevent the dangerous spread of Coronavirus pandemic, which is one of the global public health crises confronting humanity and the growing urgent need to find innovative ways to reduce the risk of infection, especially with the increasing number of infections at present. Then Dr. Shurooq Badri identified the emergence of the new variant of this virus and the need to know the most effective vitamins that have the ability to reduce the risk of this disease and the consequences of infection, including those related to viral respiratory system by modifying the immune response, as well as identifying the link between vitamin levels and the rate of virus infection in some countries, death tolls and trends.
