The department of soil science and water resources at the college of agricultural engineering sciences has organized recently its fourth virtual symposium on “Groundwater reservoirs in Iraq and its importance in irrigation” via FCC platform. This event was held under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad and the dean of the college Prof. Dr. Kazim Dili Hassan.
The lecturers aimed to study the use of groundwater reservoirs for irrigation purposes and how to detect the natural water cycle in order to preserve and make use of them as a strategic resource in various Iraqi provinces. For their part, the participants praised the efforts of the preparatory committee chaired by the head of department Prof. Dr. Alaa Saleh Ati in this quest.
