His Excellency the minister of higher education and scientific research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdul Sahib has presided the periodic meeting of the college of medicine’s council in the presence of the rector of the University, of Baghdad Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi and the dean and the heads of scientific branches. They discussed the indicators of the medical educational process in the country and the admission of new students of graduate studies and highlighted the current challenges and requirements for the development of work at the college and scientific research.
The minister also stressed the importance of adopting medical programs and upgrading the quality of curriculum adopted in medical disciplines in order to enhance the level of our graduates with emphasis on knowledge and practical skills that would enable them to diagnose and determine their responsibilities in the service of community. He explained that the growing quest in recent years for admission to medical colleges requires universities to expand scientifically and deliberately to keep pace with the rapid development in medical sciences and the quality of academic content taught based on a comprehensive review from time to time.
