Assist. Prof. Dr. Ammar Hikmat, assistant dean for student affairs at the college of Islamic sciences has participated recently in a virtual forum of religious leaders to pray for peace, love and salvation from the coronavirus pandemic at the onset of the New Year 2021. This event was sponsored by the Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) which is a non-profit international organization in South Korea founded for global peace and cessation of wars.

A number of leading figures of different religions and cultures across the world have participated in this gathering hoping that 2021 will be a year of health and safety for the whole world, praying that humanity would avoid pitfalls, disasters, calamities and misfortunes on both the local and global levels. It is noteworthy that HWPL is an international peace organization that has a special advisory center at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the United Nations Department of Global Communications (DGC) that focuses on resolving violations of human rights and religious freedom, working with many civil societies and leaders in various disciplines around the world to stop wars and achieving world peace.
