With the sponsorship and direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid Al Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad, the department of student activities has organized recently a great celebration on the occasion of the Victory Day for honoring the families of the martyrs of the our heroes of the security forces, the Iraqi army and the popular mobilization. This event witnessed the presence of a number of representatives of security and social agencies, the human rights’ dean Mazen Mamdouh Jaber, the Secretary General of Iraqi Automobile and Touring Association (Iraqi ATA) and director of security licenses.

During his speech, Dr. Munir Al-Saadi stressed that Iraq has achieved a great victory after defeating terrorist and armed groups and that the university of Baghdad has played a significant role in supporting the popular mobilization through the participation of a number of students in the lines of deterrence against the enemy where some of them sacrificed themselves for the sake of the nation after the obscurantist gangs sought to obliterate our national culture and identity by the assassination of competent figures and distortion of the features of the Iraqi civilization.

Then the rector honored a number of relatives of the martyrs, recalling their heroic role in defending the homeland and embodiment of the rejection of violence and sectarianism. This event also included reciting some inspiring poems and singing songs in love of the nation, as well as a parade of Arabian horses and motorcycles besides various sports activities.
