The colleges of the University of Baghdad started on Saturday, December 19th receiving new students admitted for the current academic year (2020-2021) after completing all registration requirements online according to the conditions specified by the ministry of higher education and scientific research. Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad confirmed that all possibilities and facilities have been prepared to receive students in all disciplines, adding that the preparatory committees used an electronic platform for enrolling students in order to speed up the work, calling the deans to take all necessary health measures to ensure the safety of students and staff.

On the other hand, the assistant rector for scientific affairs Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Samarrai visited some colleges at Al-Jadriya complex to inspect and follow-up the work made by the registration division at the college of science for receiving the new students, as well as he visited the college of engineering to find out the requirements of online registration and the measures taken by the college in this regard.

Then the assistant rector visited to the colleges of education for women and science for women, stressing the need to complete the registration of students as quickly as possible and assign them to scientific departments, also he visited al-Khwarizmi college of engineering, the colleges of political sciences and media to inspect the admission process.

In the same context, Dr. Abdul Karim al-Samarrai visited the colleges of arts, education for humanities (Ibn Rushd), pharmacy and languages at Bab al- Moatham complex to supervise the progress of student registration, recommending the importance of verifying the validity of the applicants’ data. At last he visited the colleges of medicine and dentistry where he met the deans, calling for registering students in accordance with the legal and administrative contexts adopted this year by the ministry of higher education and scientific research along with the measures of health and social distancing in order to maintain public safety, praising the efforts of deans and staff who strictly implemented the directives of the university presidency in this regard.
