A group of faculty of the college of pharmacy at the University of Baghdad published a joint research in the Journal of Generic Medicine on the factors affecting the Iraqi pharmaceutical industry by carrying out several surveys involving 123 patients and 125 pharmacists working in the private sector, as well as interviewing 7 owners and managers of Iraqi pharmaceutical laboratories.

The study aimed to determine the acceptability of Iraqi drugs from the point of view of Iraqi patients and pharmacists and to identify the obstacles facing this industry and ways to develop. It is worth mentioning that the researchers received a letter of thanks and appreciation from the Iraqi League for Medicine Producer for their valuable efforts in the service of the national pharmaceutical industry in the country and in the strengthening of the foundations of this significant medical science.
