Lecturer Dr. Nagham Jassim Fayyad and Assist. Prof. Dr. Samira Mohammed Hamdallah, professors of the department of petroleum engineering at the University of Baghdad participated in the proceedings of IDIPEC Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference 2020 that took place for the period 9-12 November and witnessed a wide gathering of 70 ministers, chief executives, entrepreneurs and experts of energy across the world.

They presented two researches on “Investigating geo-mechanical considerations on suitable layer selection for hydraulically fractured horizontal wells placement in tight wells placement in tight reservoirs” and “Stress-dependent petrophysical properties of high heterogeneous carbonate tight oil reservoirs” that focused on the properties of non-traditional reservoirs and proposals for development and production.

It is noteworthy that these studies were carried out through joint collaboration with Prof. Dr. Hazem Abbas Hussein of the University of Houston, receiving certificates of appreciation for their participation in this international event. The conference included more than 135 e-sessions and more than 700 prominent speakers who submitted papers targeted towards highlighting ways for energy sector’s response to Covid-19 pandemic and how to adapt with for the sake of providing a range of future innovative insights.
