aProf. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad and chairmanship of the university council held the fifth session in the presence of his assistants for scientific and administrative affairs, deans and members. At the start of the session, the chairman reviewed the results of discussions with the Chinese delegation of oil and energy company where the two sides signed a partnership agreement to inaugurate a center for training the students of engineering and science, in addition to providing the practical knowledge for the doctoral students in an initiative the precedes the opening of a center for solar energy production.
Also Dr. Munir al-Saadi pointed out the importance of the scientific reputation and academic level reached by the University of Baghdad recently, which requires the formation of a high level team or a crisis cell headed by deans to follow-up the scientific output of faculty. Then the members discussed matters related to methodological materials adopted this year for graduate and postgraduate studies as well as the mechanisms of academic cooperation concluded between the college of engineering and the ministry of oil, scientific journals and promotions along with other administrative and legal matters presented to the council.
