Dr. Jassim Mohammed Mahdi, a professor from the college of engineering has won the highly-cited paper award 2020 for his research entitled “Solidification enhancement of PCM in a triplex-tube thermal energy storage system with nanoparticles and fins” published in the applied energy journal within the proceeding of the 12th International Conference on Applied Energy (ICAE2020) that would be held in Bangkok next December.

Applied Energy Journal is one of the most prestigious scientific journals of the renowned Elsevier publishing house that is covering research on energy engineering and is classified by Scopus database as the first of its kind in the field of construction engineering. It is worth mentioning that Dr. Jassim Mahdi has 21 distinguished specialized papers published in sober journals listed in the first level (Q1) with 545 citations, including 3 researches recently classified by Clarivate Analytics as the 1% highest citations in the field of engineering.
