Prof. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad has received recently Her Excellency the Australian Ambassador to Iraq Dr. Joanne Loundes. The two sides discussed prospects for fruitful scientific cooperation and integration in several areas with the announcement of the Australian government readiness to develop bilateral relations with the Iraqi universities in both strategic and research fields.
Dr. Joanne Loundes also stressed Australia’s keenness to activate agreements with the University of Baghdad in joint supervision and delivering lectures for graduate and postgraduate students, in addition to building a solid foundation for coordinated research work, especially in medicine, engineering and science. For his part, Dr. Munir Al-Saadi expressed his gratitude for this initiative, reviewing the university cooperation with Huawei and Knauf Co. as well as several twinning programs with international educational organizations.
