A scientific research in energy authored by Dr. Jassim Mohammed Mahdi from the college of engineering was selected as one of the most highly cited research recently in Clarivate Analytics database, entitled “Solidification enhancement of PCM in a triplex-tube thermal energy storage system with nanoparticles and fins” published in Applied Energy peer-reviewed academic journal

Theoretically, this research proposes the idea of evaluating the performance of Nanoadditives (Aluminium Oxide minutes) as practical enhancers in energy storage and recovery in an energy storage system that adopts a variable-phase material as an energy reservoir compared to the performance of thermal surfaces extended under the same design conditions, such as system size and operating time by adopting a fixed qualitative volume of minutes and extended surfaces.
