The department of chemistry in collaboration with the Ibn Sina E-Learning Unit at the college of science held recently a virtual seminar via Google Meet platform entitled “Nuclear Waste, Its Hazards and Effects” with the participation of a number of professors and postgraduate students from inside and outside the college.

The seminar was presented jointly by Assist. Prof. Dr. Sadeem Sobhi Abd and Assist. Such dangerous materials may cause damage to human beings, including anemia, inhibition of the body’s immune system, cancer, infertility, genetic mutations or congenital abnormalities of embryos. At the conclusion of this event, the participants dealt with the recent methods used globally to dispose of these dangerous wastes and their wide impact to humanity and environment.
