A number of professors from the department of astronomy and space have contributed in an online lecture entitled “Telescopes: Our Eyes in the Sky” organized by the Regional Center for Space Science and Technology Education for Western Asia-Jordan/UN. The lecture started with a discussion on how to use telescopes in space, as well as latest techniques used for observational science and astronomical measurements and their impacts on physics.

The lecture also included a brief history of Galileo who was an Italian astronomer and a physicist who invented the thermoscope in 1609 and used it for scientific observations of celestial objects. The lecturers discussed different types of reflector and crusher cones also they exchanged information about James Webb Space Telescope planned to be in charge of NASA’s flagship astrophysics mission and how it can be controlled and maintained in addition to other safety concerns.
