Assistant Professor Dr. Shatha Abbas Hassan, a faculty member at the department of architecture has participated recently in the ReConHeritage Co-Production workshop sponsored by the University of Leeds, UK along with Iraqi lecturers from the Universities of Technology and Wasit.

Dr. Shatha Abbas presented a research paper on (Raising awareness of the importance of designing an archive & a database to record historical and heritage buildings in Iraq) where she stressed the need for preservation of such historical constructions over time due to their cultural and heritage value and the potential economic exploitation related to tourism, so the government institutions should provide a great concern in this regard to prevent irreversible deterioration of their structural nature. She received a certificate of appreciation for her efforts in this valuable event broadcasted on the official website of the University of Leeds.
