The department of chemistry in collaboration with Ibn Sina E-Learning Unit at the college of science held a seminar on the “Chemical Detergents” with the participation of a number of researchers and specialists from inside and outside the university. The seminar was presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Luma Sami Ahmed and Assist. Prof. Dr. Rana Abd via Google Classroom service to identify the most important sterilizers that can be used to address the threat of Corona pandemic.
The researchers introduced household detergents and discussed the health risks resulting from mixing them, the first aid procedures to prevent them since such chemicals may affect the respiratory system and cause skin infections. They also recommended the use of less toxic detergents, especially eco- friendly cleaning products that have a less effect on hands, besides not overuse of these detergents that may lead to serious dangers.
