A number of civil society organizations in collaboration with the Department of media and Public Relations at the University of Baghdad held the first festival of Human Rights Film (Eye of Baghdad) among a crowd of a public concerned with culture of human rights and democracy.
The festival included displaying a range of films dealt with several topics talking about the violence and discrimination against woman and children’s rights and freedom of opinion and expression as well as holding the seminars, caricature exhibitions and musical performances.
The manager of media and public relations at the university, Dr. Kadhim Imran said that the festival has contributed significantly to enhance the concept and culture of human rights among students and teachers in the fact that the university teaches this subject to the students of first and second stages in the colleges and contribute to interleave the scientific and theoretical side with the technical side of diverse cinema shows .
The students and staff of the university express their appreciation for the university and the civil society organizations to organize this technical and academic event which contributed to the enhancement of scientific and cultural side of the concept of human rights and democracy.
