College of veterinary medicine holds a symposium on Ebola

  Veterinary association in cooperation with the college of veterinary medicine at the university of Baghdad held a scientific symposium on epidemic EVD through delivering a lecture on the major role played by this college to spread health awareness as well as supporting veterinary organizations and societies through the participation of its instructors as advisers in addition to its cooperation with the organizers of such scientific symposiums. The symposium was held on Monday, 15/12/2014 with the attendance of dean assistant prof. Ibrahim Abdul Hussein Swyer and a large number of professors, graduate students, employees and those concerned. At the beginning of the symposium, the dean delivered a speech, welcoming the attendees and indicating the role of the college in health awareness and pointing out the danger of this disease, its relationship with humans and animals, its speed of spread. Dr Ghaleb al-Ansari, head of the sponsoring organization praised the role of the college and its support in this regard and the countries from which it is coming. Dr. Ameen aL-Rawi, specialized in viruses gave a detailed explanation about EVD, its types and Dr. Ghaleb Al-Ansari talked about its epidemicity in the world, concluded with Dr. Abdul Karim Jaafar who dealt with the pathogenesis of this disease, its clinical symptoms and ways of transmission and Dr. Ibtisam Qasim, specialized in preventive internal medicine who talked about possible procedures for diagnosis, treatment and preventive control of Ebola. At the end of this symposium, the head of the sponsoring organization thanked the college for its good hosting and support.
