The faculty of science – University of Baghdad hosted the annual 70th ceremony of UNICEF that was attended by its dean, Prof. Dr. Fadil Abd Risan and head of the department of education at the office of UNICEF in Iraq and the representative of UNICEF in Iraq Peter Hawkins with a number of associate professors and college students. This event addressed UNICEF activities and services oriented towards children around the world and its urgent call to reach millions of children whose lives and future at risk because of conflicts, crises, poverty, inequality and discrimination. It is worth mentioned that UNICEF is one of the leading organizations dealing with children that works with many partners in 190 countries and that has approximately 13000 thousand employees distributed worldwide to provide support for all children everywhere.
