Our University Competencies Occupy Positions
Because the university contains a large expertise , heritage and competencies and scientific systems , much of the international personalities have graduated from our university, and assumed great positions like the President of the Republic or the President of the Parliament or a Government Minister or the President of the University, and different scientific, political and social prestigious positions that were not occupied in the past but those graduates from international universities, such as Harvard or Cambridge or Indiana and other major universities, perhaps the list goes on the names of graduates of our university who received the prestigious position in the communities, and received big leadership positionsas like former Indonesia leader Abdurrahman Wahid or Dr. Jalal Talabani or Sheikh Dr.Ahmed Al-Waeli,and Hussein Al-Shahristani and other personalities who left clear fingerprints in human history.Today what is produced by the University of capabilities and great potential. There have been a lot of characters, which won the desirability of the community to be effective ,leading and fruitful at the same time. With the beginning of academic year, a lot of tasks of professors and many competencies of the university have been assigned , where the Dean of the college of Engineering Al-Khawarzmi Prof. Dr. Nabil Abdalsahb received the position t of president of the University of Dhi Qar, and Assistant Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Kazim,received the position of General Director of the Directorate of missions and cultural relations, and assistant professor Dr.Bassem Abdali received the administrative assistant of the president of Al-Nahrain University as well as Dr. Hamid Fadhil as Assistant President of the University of Maysan, not to mention a lot of positions and leadeing positions that are gained by university figures in assuming senior positions in the society, by virtue of the confidence and ability enjoyed by our university graduate.
Because it is the giant ,the largest and broadest University in the Arab world and the Middle East, it always comes with the distinctive and the attractive to serve the society and the nation, with the good initiative of the university and the presence of Dr. Ali Al-Adeeb, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Iraqi flag flapped highly in Baghdad with the highest flagpole in Iraq and the Middle East, the Iraqi flag comes to more than 75 meters in the capital Baghdad,the peace ,in the land of Baghdad University in Al-Jadriya, near the famous gate of the university,which is created by one of the greatest architects of modern age “Walter Krubios” in the sixties of the last century, to confirm again that the Iraqi mind is enlightened and progressive always and forever. Prof. Dr. Alaa’ Abdulhussein,President of the University of Baghdad attended the ceremony as well as head of the Technological University , president of the University of Maysan, a number of university presidents and some members of the Iraqi Parliament, some deans and heads of academic departments at the university, and also Engineer Abdulkarim Mounir, Director of the Office of President of the University attended the cermoney, a celebration included a short documentary show produced by university channel addressed the history of Iraqi flag. The Minister of Higher Education confirmed that the Higher Education looks for meeting the requirements of the Iraqi society and its needs, and that the Iraqi flag represents the homeland and its sovereignty that is reflected on all the people of our beloved country. The President of the University of Baghdad expressed that the university has always sought to offer everything to serve the nation, and its logo (the university in service of the society ) coincides with what the university plans and implements to achieve greater amount of gains for the Iraqi who is our goal to provide the ideal atmosphere to rise and advance through science. The university emphasizes very much the development of its scientific researches to rise advanced levels in the world, through the type rather than the quantity so the university comes with rare studies that have counterparts in the Arab world and the Middle East to gain prestige among universities in the world since the scientific positions at the university initiate to adopt projects and untraditional research studies and it has come a long way in its academic field .After a number of advanced scientific studies, the university proceeds to supply the Iraqi , the Arab and global society with a stream of knowledge and theoretical and practical science to serve the society through the publication of its scientific researches in the international journals that are used by the major global institutions such as the NASA or prestigious universities and institutes . President of Baghdad University Prof. Dr. Alaa’ Abdulhussein has confirmed the necessity of adopting the University of topics related to the society and not to be limited to the theoretical side and be in accordance with a program in the service of the market and its requirements to be valuable and realistic and we have to go with the requirements of the age and its challenges. In a distinctive Ph.D. study that discussed the latest and the most controversial science in the world under the title nanomaterials industry and chemical sensors,the researcher Thamer Ameer Hassan was able to conduct advanced scientific experiments in manufacturing nanoparticles models with chemical sensors to achieve the first nanoparticles industries in the Middle East and the Arab world. During his research he was able to review a number of nanoparticles samples in applied industrial experiments in accordance with the scientific ,applied approach for the discussion committee which consisted of . chairman Prof.Dr. Harith Ibrahim Jaafar , and memberships of Prof.Dr. Raad Mohammed Saleh, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Hussein Saleh, Assistant Professor Dr.Raad Saadoun Sabri and assistant professor Dr. Talib Saloum Hammadi and Prof.Dr. Ezzat Mahmoud Mohi as supervisor and Prof. Dr. Ikram Atta Ajaj as supervisor. Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Wahid Nasser Director of Scientific Affairs at the University of Baghdad, said that the university focused on the adoption of a lot of advanced studies globally and applied aspects that are of interest to the society and promoting it through the objective and meaningful results that mimic the requirements of the society, including nanotechnology, which is a historical turning point in science , so the university aspires to establish advanced Nano centers or Nano training centers , especially since the university president Dr. Alaa’ Abdulhussein has drawn a new strategy to strengthen the university with more advanced scientific laboratories and training centers .Some of these centers have been opened such as electronic Huawei center or Knauf training center for dry building that we had made an agreement to establish and other laboratories and training centers .The website was keen to attend this discussion and documented it with a set of photographs.

Developing Friendship with Korea
The university was and is still moving and going on according to the scientific planned strategies , so as to develop all sectors and activities of education within the flow that is less than its counterpart in the application and work and to keep up with what is happening from the remarkable global progress , and perhaps the cultural relations enjoyed by the university was and still reaping the benefits of what was established by the university to paint modern picture in line with the global progress which witnesses a tremendous amount of scientific developments and academic improvements without interruption.
In order to activate the friendships and cultural relations that the university seeks to develop them , Prof. Dr. Alaa’ Abdulhussein, president of the University of Baghdad received the Korean delegation to develop Iraqi Korean friendship where the delegation included President of the Iraqi Korean friendship association , with a delegation from the Interational Hakeem Foundation and Chairman of the Education Committee of the Supreme Islamic Council Dr. Rahif Nasser and Ms. Laila al-Khafaji, a member of the Iraqi parliament, “the first session,” with a group of Iraqi promising young people . Prof. Dr. Mohi Kadhem Wannas Al- Janabi, Dean of the college of Medicine, Professor Abdulkareem Mounir, Director of the Office of President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Abdul Basset Salman website editor all attended the meeting . The meeting resulted to agree on development program for doctors and university professors in the college of Medicine and Educational Baghdad Hospital in medicine city , and out of the
international advanced experiences to the University of Baghdad.The university president suggested preparing a training and development program to be applied with Korean universities and in coordination with the Association of Iraqi Korean Friendship , to achieve workshops and memorandums of joint work.Prof. Dr. Bahaa’ Toma Jiyad ,administrative assistant of the president attended the meeting. At the end of the meeting the Korean delegation presented a manuscript of the Korean wisdom written in Korean language as a gift to the University of Baghdad, then memorial photos were taken to express the depth of friendship. The President of the University has made it clear and precise the requirements and needs of the university’s expertise , technology and modern medical equipment, in agreement with the colleges of medicine and Al-Kindi to update techniques , treatments , scientific methods and medical references and sources, and then to keep up with all of the international developments in the field of medicine where the university president agreed that the programs should be objective and of a clear goal to achieve change and development, after having reviewed more special data of the university especially in the fields of medicine and engineering.The Korean delegation expressed its desire and readiness to develop all relations with the University of Baghdad.The Dean of the college Dr. Mohi has explained more details about the mechanism of implementing development and cultural programs ties with Korean universities, explaining the importance of transferring
