An Iraqi Professor Invention Draws the World’s Attention Dr. Iyad Kubba controls the Genes and Innovates Genetic Mutation for Our University


Among the scientific achievements that ​​ the university has made is the findings of the researcher, Dr. Iyad Kubba, who just managed to invent a genetic mutation and in a patent which is considered the first of its kind in the field of development of wheat production differently, where he was able to devise a special kind of gene for genetic structure for the class of wheat Iainya 66, which is able to double the production of wheat in Iraq and the world as a whole. His scientific research took two successive years in the laboratories of the University of Baghdad, Institute of genetic engineering to come up with a spurt quality of production and crop yields.It is considered as global achievement at the discreet scientific researches level of impact factor Depending on this achievement Dr. Kubba is  invited to participate in plant breeding conference which will be held in Turkey next month.
The Swedish ambassador during his recent visit to the University had a look at this scientific achievement and expressed his admiration and interest. Then the Central Agency of Standardization and Quality Control granted us the patent on the technology that we have used for the class. The class of Uruk wheat has been characterized with many qualitative and quantative characteristics that are not in the Middle and South regions in Iraq . We were able to fulfill this through the technique of inventing genetic mutations by irradiation of stored seeds for several years of soft wheat class ( Iainya -66) with doses of certain gamma rays resulting in a kind of combined effect between radiation and Aldehyde ( which is one of accumulated chemical mutations in the seed as a result of being stored) Therefore the required effect on the genes that are responsible of the height of the plant (Rht alleles) resulting in reduced plant height rate of 105 cm to 78 cm in the new class Uruk. Many studies have been conducted on that new class and was published in Iraqi and international specialized scientific journals and in international conferences. It was found that this class is a good resistant to lying that leads to a reduction which leads to a decrease winning up to 40 % , and that this is a good product resistant to stem and leaves rust disease and it has a good response to nitrogen fertilization and its viability of bread is very good. It turns out that productivity outweigh the productivity of wheat classes prevalent in the irrigation areas twice. Recently the new product has been adopted in the middle and southern regions for the advantages and good qualities mentioned in the accreditation certificate. Now special  researches of the genetic analysis that cause shortage  and on the interaction of the enzyme serial polymerase (PCR) at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and biological technology for Postgraduate Studies / University of Baghdad . University Council in the College of Physical Education                                               

The university focuses on everything that offers success for colleges , institutes and scientific centers to serve the researcher as a student or professor at the university, which the university took to develop its discrete scientific reality in all its scientific locations .To achieve this, Prof. Dr. Alaa’ Abdul hussein, president of the University of Baghdad, ,  instructed that the meetings of the University Council to be outside the building of the presidency of the university from now and then and the colleges will be headquarters for meetings of the University Council, so that they can look and investigate more things with the University Council as a whole, and thus all members of the University Council benefit from the experiences of colleges. Our university has made abundance of gains in this space through its website, which saves a lot of time and effort for the benefit of educational infrastructure and scientific research.Due to its  importance, the  university focused on supporting  ,expanding  and activating  the work of the website with a set of measures and scientific discrete  mechanisms that serve the society mainly through serving the  researcher as a  professor , a student or an associate, so the university is interested very much in the development of knowledge and science through the latest developments and technological improvements especially in the field of  electronic communication. Accordingly the university holds many meetings to employees of the websites to develop the reality of work through a series of academic activities and meetings,such as workshops or specialized courses, or scientific conferences and symposiums. Prof. Dr. Alaa’ Abdulhussein ,the University President attended the workshop and delivered  an important speech addressing the officials of websites, stressing the desire of the university to have objectivity within the websites that serve the scientific research and the university alike, and to serve the society that awaits more scientific achievements. In addition the websites should be within the implementation mechanisms and collective joint work that achieves virtue and rejects vice through the topics displayed in the websites, and that there should be a smooth of the work of the websites of colleges, institutes and all formations of the university, within non-traditional mechanisms of action that are beyond routine stages that may hinder the work of websites. He also confirmed that the web sites are not only interfaces of the University but for society as a whole, explaining in his speech to employees of the websites  that the university is  keen of its  scientific reputation and prestige which is through the reputation of the  websites. He, furthermore, added that he rejects any address that is out of interest to the university, stating: ” I might overlook any speech about me or criticizing me but I reject any criticism reduces the status of the University and its prestige and place .being a mother for us all, and we have to be loyal to the University .It is illogic that we criticize without work, but we have to work in order to avoid any criticism”. the university president also explained that the work in the websites is qualitative and not quantitative, which is why we needed more efforts and urged more cooperation and more precise follow-up, then he asked to listen to  all the problems or obstacles encountering websites at colleges ,institutes and all formations to discuss them and  find appropriate solutions.The website administrators reviewed a set of ideas ,attitudes and some of the obstacles facing their work, praising  the university and its support for the electronic effort, which achieved quality jumps  in performance and university work within standard time, also some associates explained their  urgent needs to expand the work of the websites and within large authority  , so that to enter within the international rankings of colleges, as some university colleges are included in some of the international rankings. Moreover, some associates emphasized the need of Central work with the University’s central website.And not to disperse some of the websites with colleges journals in separate locations of the central website of the university because this is not of the interest of the discreteness of the central website of the University, it also needs additional energies and efforts and possibilities that may disperse the work or overburden the central website. The president  instructed to provide all supplies that develop the electronic work by writing down all the actual needs of websites to be provided , as well as he instructed to submit a study about the  centralization of  the website and its relationship to some websites of colleges .He also expressed his thanks and appreciation of the associates and their eagerness to develop the websites, stressing at the same time on some associates who did not attend  such developmental meetings, instructing to direct inquiries for not attending the workshop, and to have their presence within the indicators of performance assessments  , so that the work is more rewarding and eagerness and to have more objective assessments that adopt more meaningful and more considerate standards  of some colleges that have less  number of students and departments than the rest of the colleges through mechanisms and standards in this aspect that take into account all circumstances . The President of the University directed to give a letter of thanks to the website for winning the first position in the ratings of the university, and then he watched some films and Graphics carried out by websites associates, praising their scientific efforts and whoever offers ideas or working papers during the workshop. Our website team provided a working paper for the workshop and presented “Promotion” and some graphic posters of the website, then the associates requested memorial photographs with the President of the University. The  website team documented this meeting with a series of photographs.
