Elite from the faculty of physical education and sports science participates in a conference in France


Elite from the faculty of physical education and sports science at University of Baghdad participated in a conference held at University of Dijon in France for science and sports research through a research paper entitled (Use of walking and food to reduce pressure and weight for men aged 40-50 years). This paper received the satisfaction and approbation of the attendees and participants where the dean of the college expressed his fascination with this Iraqi participation, the first of its kind since University of Baghdad is considered as a prestigious university at the level.

College of education (Ibn Rushd) participates in an international conference in Italy

College of education for humanities (Ibn Rushd) at University of Baghdad participated in the world conference held in Florence, Italy in cooperation with American, European, Turkish, Hindi and Iranian universities via (169) researches presented by (44) countries dealing with English language, literature and teaching methods. The college participated through presenting two researches submitted by Assistant Prof. Dr. Bushra Sadoon Mohammed al-Noori from the department of English language about teaching composition for school students by using cards for each student which is a new method of teaching composition so that each student can take his or her role in answering the teacher’s question. The two researches were discussed objectively with open dialogue with the attendants. At the conclusion of this event, letters of appreciation were distributed to the participating professors who were invited also to attend such conferences to be held soon in India, Russia and Turkey.

University of Baghdad congratulates and blesses the great and the final victory over ISIS terrorist gangs


University of Baghdad offers its congratulations and blessing to the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, Dr. Haidar al-Abadi, the Iraqi army in all its formations, security forces, the sacred popular crowd and clan members on the occasion of the great and the final victory over ISIS terrorist gangs for all the sacrifices made by our glorious martyrs in order to achieve this great victory and to expel the gangs of disbelief and vice from the land of our beloved country. May mercy, glory and immortality be upon the martyrs who by their pure blood Iraq has been liberated Iraq and achieved this great victory.

Ibn al-Haitham College of education holds the 1st international scientific conference


Ibn al-Haytham College of education for pure sciences at University of Baghdad held the 1st international scientific conference sponsored by the minister of higher education and scientific research, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razaq a-Issa and president of University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein Abdul Rasool in the presence of the Chancellor of the Prime Minister Dr. Walid al-Hilli and former minister of higher education Prof. Dr. Ali al-Adeeb as well as a large number of academic personalities, politicians and Iraqi scholars with the participation of five countries, namely Egypt, Bahrain, France, India and Iran. The dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Khalid Fahad Ali during his speech addressed the history of the college and its significant contributions to the dissemination of research in prestigious world journals. It is worth mentioned that the aim of this conference is provide a scientific forum for scientists and researchers in various scientific disciplines through exchanging ideas and experiences, follow-up scientific developments and to discuss the potential of future scientific cooperation via such events and workshops. 


International Committee of the Red Cross honors the dean of the college of administration and economics


International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) honored the dean of the college of administration and economics, Prof. Dr. Jafar al-Djili, with a certificate of appreciation for his significant efforts and dedication to community service.

Joint scientific cooperation between the college of physical education and sports science and the French Scientific Research Center


Dean of the college of physical education and sports sciences at University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Uday Tariq al-Rubaie conducted joint scientific meetings with the director of the French Scientific Research Center (Euro Mov) Prof. Pinot Pardi and director of Barcelona Sports Academies Frederick Martin under the framework of mutual scientific cooperation between the two sides to develop skills of the college’s coaches and academics as well as to keep abreast of developments in this regard. At the conclusion of his technical meetings with his French and Spanish counterparts, the dean confirmed the agreement on points of interest namely training courses under the supervision of the host side. It is worth mentioned that this French scientific research center has been supplied with new laboratories and scientific devices (free of charge) and the two parties agreed on holding such debates every Thursday via video-conference technique.

College of education for pure science (Ibn al-Haitham) at University of Baghdad concluded the proceedings of its 1st international scientific conference in 2017 that included holding a number of workshops in various scientific disciplines, such as workshops entitled “Registration of scientific journals in SCOPUS and Thomson Reuters”, “training on WIEN2K”, “Analysis of Point mutations: amplification-refractory mutation system (ARMS) in life sciences”, “Diagnosis of organic compounds using NMReady     60pro in the field of chemical mechanical analysis”, “Mathematical treatments of social epidemiological models in the field of mathematics” and “Writing scientific research in LaTex in the field of electronic publishing”. Morning and afternoon sessions were also launched to discuss six joint researches per session as well as discussing research from outside Iraq. Then the closing session was held in the presence of participants from inside and outside Iraq who were awarded the shield of the college and certificates of appreciation for their sober academic  efforts.


University of Baghdad hosts the minister of higher education and scientific research and his Turkish counterpart for signing a scientific memorandum of understanding


His Excellency, the minister of higher education and scientific research, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razaq al-Issa, signed with his Turkish counterpart and president of the Turkish Higher Education Commission, Dr. Mohammed Yakta Siraj a joint scientific memorandum of understanding for the sake of implementation of the agreements concluded this year between the two parties as well as promotion of the teaching of the Turkish language in the college of languages in Iraq.  In a press conference hosted by University of Baghdad, His Excellency, the minister confirmed that the ministry would speed up the operation of the agreement with the Turkish side in the service of education in Iraq while Dr. Siraj noted that Turkey attached great importance to scientific cooperation with Iraqi for sharing knowledge and expertise between the two countries, since Turkish universities have a privileged position in world rankings. Al-Issa called on the Turkish side to transfer the Turkish scientific and historical archives to Iraq, especially since the two countries have shared interests in past centuries. It is worth mentioned that the parties reportedly presented to each other a number of folk gifts and appreciation shields after the signing of the memorandum in the presence of the Turkish ambassador in Baghdad, Fatih Yildiz and a number of members of the embassy as well as agents of the ministry of higher education and scientific research with the participation of president of University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein Abdul Rasool and dean of the college of languages, Assistant Prof. Dr. May Estevan Rizkallah and a number of those concerned in the department of mission and cultural relations at the ministry.
