Abstract
In recent years, the medical application of Cold Atmospheric Plasma CAP had wide attention due to its ability to treat variety of diseases without causing side effects for living tissues and organics of organism. A floating Electrode – Dielectric Barrier Discharge device for medical application was designed. The device consist of two parts: First, high voltage source was designed to provide the floating electrode by high alternative voltage reaches (25) kV, the circuit of the voltage source depends on the ignition coil. The high volt source contains tuning switch to adjust the value of output voltage. Second, the floating electrode, it was designed with cylindrical shape of (10) cm length and (1.5) diameter.
It was fixed on the base with (12) cm length and connected by coaxial wire with length (125) cm. When the floating electrode connect to the high voltage source it was became high voltage electrode, the other electrode represent the body of patient. When the floating electrode approaches to the patient body and reaches (3) mm distance or less, the discharges was ignited and the cold plasma was produced between the electrode and the body. The best quality of cold plasma at (1) mm distance. The power of the output plasma was (0.375) W, and its temperature (40) C0. This value of power plasma and temperature allow to use it medical human applications with output any side effects and heat damaged. The device was successful used in healing some clinical cases such as: burns, polyps, greasy bag in eye and rash.
