The college of media at the University of Baghdad held a dialogue session under the title “Information as a force” to discuss the draft of an act on the right of access to information implemented by Burj Babel Foundation.

The dean of the college, Dr. Hashim Hassan Al-Tamimi stated during his speech that the right of access to information is one of the important acts that enable citizens in general and journalists in particular to access information blocked from media that may result in ensuring the cooperation of important official departments in related matters.

For his part, Anas Akram Mohammed, a member of the Council of the High Commissioner for Human Rights stressed the importance of legislating such acts in Iraq for promoting the reality of human rights as well as enabling Iraqi citizens to obtain exact information from its real source.
