Prof. Dr. Ali Ismail al-Bustani, a professor from the department of Orthodontics at University of Baghdad was received the award of the best doctoral thesis in the field of orthodontics issued by King’s college London in United Kingdom. The thesis included the invention of a new method of fixing the orthodontic blockers without collateral damage as well as a new material made from the substances derived from the same tooth (phosphate and calcium) with acid qualities that can increase the surface energy of the tooth without any collateral damage. Dr. Ali al-Bustani also gained a patent in UK which was published as a global invention by the World Inventions Organization to be the first Iraqi dentist in the field of orthodontic specialization.
