The central committee at the presidency of University of Baghdad held its 1st meeting for the implementation of State program on higher education and scientific research under the chairmanship of Associate Rector for scientific affairs Assist. Prof. Dr. Osama Fadel Abdel Latif in the presence of all its members. The participants discussed five strategic objectives of the State program on higher education such as the entry of our university in global rankings, twinning with international universities, promotion of parallel education, creation of academic atmosphere, academic research, raising of scientific standards, seeking to contract with State institutions and private sector companies, improving the current educational situation, providing extra-budgetary expenses as well as the challenges faced by the committees and ways to overcome them. Prof. Dr. Osama Fadel stressed the importance of following up the work of the subcommittees and coordinating committees in order to implement the project items at all university’s formations according to the deadlines set in accordance with the ministry objectives. It is noteworthy that sub-coordinators have been named along with the relevant authorities to implement this project.
