University of Baghdad entered THE World University Rankings 2019 for best universities in the world at the status (801-1000) which is a breakthrough reached for the first time in Iraq. This scientific achievement came after accomplishing the requirements for publishing 1000 research in the last 5 years in Scopus. Times Foundation for higher education institutions rankings is concerned with academic classification of international universities which is known for its objectivity, transparency and sobriety in evaluation that had recently issued a list of the best educational institutions on 26/9/2018 including (1258) universities from all over the world out of (1500) universities. The editorial director of the classification (Phil Paty) told BBC saying: “University of Baghdad has had “close international cooperation” which has reversed the importance of universities in postwar reconstruction of Iraq”. It is noteworthy that the experts of Times Foundation for higher education rely on (13) performance indicators to classify world universities that fall within the following areas of evaluation: education, scientific research, international reputation. On this occasion, the presidency of University of Baghdad expressed its warmest congratulations and blessing to all those who contributed to this scientific achievement.
