Lecture on extremist Islamism in Europe at the center for international studies

  Center for strategic and international studies at University of Baghdad hosted the academic researcher Dr. Waleed kasid al-Zaidi from the Graduate School for social sciences in Paris, France to delivered a lecture entitled “extremist Islamism in Europe and the movement of French jihadists in the Middle East” where he dealt with the causes behind the involvement of second and third generations of immigrants in France in the Islamic Jihad. The lecture referred to their most important activities and writings that have specialized in Islamic movements in France. Also the researcher discussed the means adopted by the French government to integrate immigrants into French society to reduce youth involvement in such movements. It is worth mentioned that Dr. Walid kasid al-Zaidi has PhD in philosophy of the history of political thought from University of Baghdad, worked as Director General in the Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq since 2007 and has authored a number of books specialized in the French relations with the Middle East.
