The President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdulhassan Atiyah Hassan, met with the female winners of first place in the international road race and the winners of first and second places in the Iraqi Universities Chess Championship. He commended their athletic excellence and their honorable representation of the university.
The University President affirmed that “these results reflect the distinguished abilities and talents of the University of Baghdad’s students and embody the university’s commitment to supporting sports activities alongside scientific and academic excellence.” He praised the efforts of the students, supervisors, and coaches in achieving these leading positions.
The meeting comes within the University of Baghdad’s orientation toward encouraging its students to take part in local and international championships, developing their talents, and strengthening the university’s presence in university sports competitions, thereby contributing to building a well-rounded student character that combines academic achievement with athletic excellence.
This activity contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, namely Goal 4, which calls for quality education, in addition to Goal 17, which relates to partnerships for the goals.
