The President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdulhussein Attiya Hassan, attended the opening of the first edition of the International Justice and Judiciary Exhibition, which was inaugurated by the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Dr. Faiq Zaidan, under the slogan “Justice Is the Value of Humanity,” in cooperation with the College of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad.
The opening ceremony, held at the headquarters of the Supreme Judicial Council, was attended by a number of judges, members of the Public Prosecution, and directors general, along with a number of college deans and ambassadors, as part of efforts to strengthen communication between the judicial institution and academic and artistic circles.
The exhibition embodies a space for interaction between the judiciary and the arts, through the use of artworks to express the values of justice, fairness, judicial independence, and the rule of law. It thereby contributes to raising public awareness of the role of the judiciary in protecting rights and freedoms, and highlights the role of art in consolidating the principles of justice as a fundamental pillar for building a state of institutions.
This activity contributes to achieving a number of the Sustainable Development Goals, namely Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), in addition to Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
