Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad, represented by the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, organized a specialized workshop titled “Huawei Academy and the Labor Market.” This initiative reflects the college’s ongoing efforts to align its educational outcomes with the evolving demands of specialized labor markets.
The workshop aimed to emphasize the critical importance of integrating scientific knowledge with practical application in preparing a generation of engineers capable of meeting market needs. It was noted that the training initiatives offered by Huawei Academy serve as a “strategic bridge” connecting academic knowledge with hands-on experience.
Ms. Rand Amer Safou, representative of Huawei Information and Communication Technology Company, delivered a detailed presentation on the academy’s role in enhancing students’ digital skills. She highlighted the importance of preparing students to keep pace with rapid developments in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), while also addressing the actual needs of both local and global labor markets.
At the conclusion of the workshop, organizers stressed the necessity of sustaining and expanding strategic cooperation between academic institutions and leading global companies such as Huawei. The goal is to support students’ futures and equip them with the tools required to succeed in their professional careers after graduation.
This activity contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4, which advocates for quality education.
