The University of Baghdad has marked a significant achievement by securing a spot in the 741–750 global bracket of the QS World University Rankings 2026. This reflects a leap of more than 100 positions from its 2025 ranking of 801–850, reinforcing its leadership in Iraq and maintaining its top position among the participating Iraqi universities.
This year’s edition included nine Iraqi institutions, with the University of Baghdad emerging at the forefront. It excelled in several key metrics used by the QS global ranking, notably:
- International Research Network: ranked 545th globally
- Employment Outcomes: ranked 134th globally
- Employer Reputation: ranked 330th globally
Such progress highlights the university’s ambitious strategy focused on enhancing educational quality, expanding global research collaborations, and aligning academic outcomes with the evolving needs of the job market.
The university’s leadership emphasized that this milestone is the result of the concerted efforts of its faculty, researchers, and students. They affirmed that the University of Baghdad remains committed to strengthening its status among reputable global academic institutions by continually investing in innovation and institutional development.
