The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Women held its Third Scientific Conference under the theme: “Artificial Intelligence and Its Role in Cognitive Creativity in Sports Sciences.” The conference’s opening activities included panel discussions and scientific sessions that addressed the applications of artificial intelligence in the field of sports sciences. In addition, the event featured the inauguration of a smart classroom operating with artificial intelligence technology to train and educate students in both team and individual sports.
Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, President of the University of Baghdad, emphasized the importance of the safe and ethical use of artificial intelligence, stating that it will enhance human progress and well-being. He noted that universities will be at the forefront of this transformation and stressed the need to develop a clear strategy for the gradual shift toward AI-based concepts. He also affirmed the University of Baghdad’s commitment to this direction through the establishment of the College of Artificial Intelligence, which aims to be a model institution attracting distinguished faculty, researchers, and students.
The conference addressed a variety of topics, including artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality, and AI-supporting devices.
The conference recommended the need to strengthen scientific research in the field of artificial intelligence and to encourage joint collaboration between Arab and international universities in e-learning. This would help achieve a qualitative leap in sports training by utilizing AI technologies to advance the field of sports sciences.
This conference supports two of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 4 Quality Education, and Goal 17 Partnerships for the Goals, through the university’s and its faculties’ engagement in academic activities aimed at achieving sustainable development.
