The College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop titled “Work Ethics in State Institutions,” under the patronage of Professor Amin Abdul Hassan Mani’ Al-Alwani, the Dean. The Dean delivered the keynote lecture, addressing key values and principles that employees and college members should uphold, with a particular focus on the academic environment and its role in promoting integrity and transparency in task execution.

The workshop included a session on essential professional ethics, such as scientific honesty, responsibility, transparency, fairness in interactions, and confidentiality. It was emphasized that adhering to these values contributes to improving the performance of academic institutions and strengthens public trust in their outcomes.

Additionally, the program featured a segment dedicated to etiquette and professional protocol, which outlined the foundations of formal interactions among employees, faculty, and the public. The importance of tact and professionalism in service delivery was also highlighted.

The workshop concluded with an interactive discussion session, during which Professor Amin Abdul Hassan Mani’ Al-Alwani responded to participants’ questions. He also called for more frequent educational workshops of this nature to enhance awareness of work ethics among employees and college members, ensuring the achievement of academic institutions’ goals and the provision of high-quality services to the community.

This workshop aligns with one of the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 16, which emphasizes peace, justice, and strong institutions.
