The College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad held a workshop titled “Oral Microbiota in Aging and Diseases,” presented by Professor Zainab Abdul Jabbar and Assist.Prof.Maha Fadhil Istifan, with the participation of several faculty members.

The workshop aimed to explore the relationship between oral microbiota, aging, and age-related diseases. It covered several key topics, including: Oral microbiology: An overview of microbial communities in the oral cavity. The connection between oral microbiota, aging, and related diseases: Examining how microbial changes influence aging and its associated health conditions.

At the conclusion of the workshop, recommendations emphasized the clinical importance of oral microbiota, highlighting new insights, innovative approaches, and potential future interventions for managing aging and age-related diseases.

This workshop aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), which focuses on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.
